That was the year the company went out of business. The Hanna Manufacturing Company is credited with making important improvements to the design of baseball bats. One of the great improvements came in 1933 with the introduction of the Hanna patented non-chipping treatment used on all bats. This treatment not only benefitted the batters who originally used the bats, but it also served to improve the overall quality of antique Hanna Columbia baseball bats.
